    Oh my goodness. This is genius. My girl has been wanting this chair forever and I’ve resisted because I didn’t like either of the base colors. Thanks for sharing. :)

      haha, it is pretty awesome. not sure how conducive the hard plastic would be to napping, but hey, you never know ;)

    Now, why don’t Ikea MAKE it in white? That’s what I’ve never been able to understand. Kudos to you for painting it. Did you use something special to help it stick to the plastic?

      the paint (linked above) is made to be used on plastic! it took a number of coats, but i’m super happy with the results!

    Genius. This chair was downright ugly before you did your magic. You have inspired me for easter – and I am going to try and dye the shade…. Oh, the possibilities. How many coats did it take? How many cans? Thanks!

      thanks lori! i think it was just over three cans, and a lot of coats. but so worth it :)
