in motion . on the move

23 Jul

nothing within a foot or so of the floor is safe anymore — little cole is now crawling around, pulling up and chewing on everything in sight. i have a feeling there may be a little more baby proofing in our future than was necessary with miss li.

also, let’s pretend you can’t hear my cheering him on ;)

This is too cute! I love his little grunts. :) From talking to moms that had girls first they do end up baby proofing more. Girls just aren’t as naughty as boys when they are little, haha!

Aw!! This is so awesome! Love his grunts and the cheering. And YES. Be prepared to baby proof. Boys are naughtier. ;)

Gabriel is WAY more mobile (and wriggly) than Saige ever was – diaper changes are the worst.

Ooh the effort of it all! I love it. And yes, I can confirm, after having had a girl who required no baby-proofing whatsoever, having a boy was a bit of a shock: no amount of baby-proofing helps! He is just attracted to danger! All those things Amélie didn’t glance once at (sharp knives, boiling water, glass bowls, bottles of detergent…), Charlie is magnetically attracted to. And even with all those removed or locked away, he still finds ways of striking terror into my heart (climbing onto tables and diving off, running across the room and tripping just at the right moment for his head to collide, at full speed, with the wall, slipping in the bath, getting stuck under beds…). It’s constant, and it’s exhausting because you have to follow him around like a hawk, just in case. The only comfort I get is knowing that it’s normal. Everyone I speak to says “oh yes, that’s just boys”. Sigh. And to think that one day they’ll be old enough to get in a car and drive. Scary.
